Distillation plant

Distillator

The distiller makes it possible to distill and recycle solvents that have been used in various production processes. The solvents are recovered by distillation.

The contaminated solvent is brought to the boiling point, after which it is condensed in a heat exchanger cooled via ventilated air. This method makes it possible to separate volatile parts (solvents) from sources of pollution (pigments, resins, oils, etc.). The distillation residues remain in the tank. These residues are removed from the tank after each operation by turning the distiller upside down or by using the special distillation bags supplied by D3 System to order.

The workflow is completely automatic. The thermostats are set to the correct temperature for the solvent to be distilled. When all the solvent has evaporated, the system stops automatically.

The distiller has certain safety functions that protect against overheating and overpressure on the system.

Distillers usually operate at atmospheric pressure. However, when using thermolabile solvents or solvents with a high boiling point (>150oC), a vacuum unit is switched on to lower the boiling point significantly.

The vacuum units are available pneumatic or electric.

Automatic filling/emptying system with pneumatic pump (ATEX) can be ordered.

Note that only flammable solvents that are included in the group of explosives (IIA and IIB) and with a degree of self-ignition exceeding 250oC can be distilled.
